This is the new Freedom Tower that is being built next to where the Twin Towers stood. The picture below is one right next to the 9/11 Memorial and it still is black and ashed from the disaster.
This is the South Pool and all around it is names of the victims of 9/11. This was a very peaceful and reverent place. When we were there, I kept thinking of the damage, horror, and sadness that this spot holds. It was a very serial experience for me. I am so thankful we came to see this.
This tree is call the "Survivor Tree". It is the only tree that survived the area around the crashes. They have moved it since, but it grows on the memorial sight now.
All the names that were written on the perimeter of the pools....just thousands of people that belong to someone.....
