We went to Kirtland, Ohio yesterday. It was a great experience! It took us about 2 1/2 hours and lots of snacks. The feel in the temple was kind of different since The Reorganized church owns it. But they have taken very good care of it and it still was an amazing place of history. The green door is the original door to the temple. It's the original color it used to be. We then went about 5 minutes away and saw our church's historical site. When we entered even the parking lot, I felt a different spirit. It was so neat and the missionaries presented the tour so well. It was so amazing to be there at the actual spots of church history. Where Joseph Smith walked and had the amazing experiences he had. The Newel K. Whitney store was really neat and we were able to walk in and sit down in the room where the School of Prophets was held. It was a very tiny room but with a huge spirit residing in it. Newel K. Whitney was called to be a Bishop. They showed us a 24 minute movie. It was so neat to watch it at the end and to know we had just walked the places they were showing us in the movie. The spirit was so strong and I felt such joy being there. It was definitely a memory maker.
